Our Story

Magnolia Financial Group was built on shared values, trusted relationships, and a belief that meaningful financial planning should serve families for generations.

Our story began in 2015, when Mark and Trent crossed paths through the Integrated Financial Group network (see below). What started as a professional connection quickly revealed something deeper: a shared commitment to putting clients first, leading with authenticity, and approaching financial planning with care, clarity, and purpose.

In 2019, Mark and Trent merged their practices, bringing together two equal partners with similar values and complementary backgrounds. In 2021, Magnolia Financial Group continued to strengthen its foundation with the addition of Russ Wood, whose experience, integrity, and relationship-centered approach added even greater depth to the team.

Today, MFG represents more than 100 years of collective experience, built around a simple but lasting purpose: helping families make confident decisions about what matters most.

As our firm has grown, so has our commitment to continuity. We believe true financial planning extends beyond today’s needs. It requires stewardship, stability, and the foresight to be present not only for one generation, but for the next. That is why we are thoughtfully building Magnolia Financial Group as a firm designed to endure.

With the addition of Brae Davidson, we are proud to welcome the next generation of financial planners to MFG. Brae’s arrival reflects our continued investment in the future of our clients, our team, and the families we serve. By expanding our bench with purpose, we are strengthening our ability to provide the same level of attention, wisdom, and care our clients have come to expect.

Magnolia Financial Group is more than a firm to us. It is our legacy. Our vision is to build a 100-year firm, one that can serve as a steady, familiar, and trusted partner for your children, grandchildren, and generations beyond.

We are honored to be part of your story, today and for the years ahead.

Our Philosophy

At Magnolia Financial Group, our philosophy is deeply rooted in personal experiences and the wisdom passed down over 100 years of combined experience. These stories and lessons drive our approach, emphasizing the importance of understanding the reasons behind our financial decisions. We lead with insight and compassion, always mindful that our work is not just about the numbers, but about making each decision in a way that honors our shared values and goals.

Our Commitment

At the heart of Magnolia Financial Group lies a deep-seated conviction to our clients’ well-being. Our dedication is as steadfast as the roots of the Magnolia tree that has inspired all of us in different ways throughout our lives. We never lose sight of what’s truly important — your best interests. With a foundation built on shared experiences, adversity, and unwavering support, we promise to guide you and your family toward a secure and meaningful future.

Our Client Success Process

Your journey with us as your financial guides starts with a warm welcome from our client success team. Whether you’re working with an advisor for the first time or transitioning from another firm, our team works hard to ensure the experience is as easy and stress-free as possible. It might be cliche to say – but we treat everyone that walks through our doors like family. In other words, clients might greet us with a handshake but after that initial meeting, they’re leaving with a hug.

It is one thing to make promises to an advisor to gain their partnership. It is another to fulfill those promises. At IFG, there is no gap between what is said and what is done. The culture of IFG is a throwback to the time when corporations treated their people like family, and it is more evident everyday that passes that IFG is a part of my family. The ability to practice independently and have an extended bench of my peers with more than 2,500 years of expertise to draw on is crucial to Magnolia Financial Group's success.
